I must confess I
am a workshop enthusiast, participatory workshop that is. There is a ‘tradition’
of the participatory workshop which I consider an essence of effective
participatory workshops. Before the start any workshop, I am sure you may be
familiar with this observance, the facilitator(s) usually leads the
participants through the step of setting the House Rules – a sort of CODE OF
CONDUCT for the duration of the workshop.
House Rules
guide the process of the workshop unfolding so that participants are on their
best behaviour.
I am painfully
aware, as you may be as well, people are hardly mindful of language and simple
courtesies online. I am not here to ponder why, but I have noted that people
feel uninhibited to post some really nasty comment as long as they cannot be
identified facially.
Let us set the
House Rules for this blog; I will suggest two off the cuff - 1) Post only polite comment always; 2) Counter
or disagree with superior argument as you present your point of view; and 3)
Feel free to disagree without being disagreeable.
KINDLY SUGGEST A
FEW MORE ... THEN LET US GET ROLLING. THANK YOU.
PLEASE REMEMBER
-
naijaGRAPHITTI is an attempt to make
CREATIVITY and INNOVATION more exciting than gossip and scandal in Nigeria!
This blog is designed
to promote social transformation in Nigeria and the Nigerian national life by
challenging status quo and seeking to promote CREATIVE THINKING as a culture.
The world is gradually
becoming more of a knowledge based economy, how can Nigeria as a country and
the Nigerian people take advantage of this trend? The blog would facilitate people
using inspiring stories and anecdotes to develop their creative human potential
to improve, enhance, and transform their businesses, communities, and personal
lives.
The blog aims at
four broad objectives:
- Show that CREATIVITY and INNOVATION pays at the individual and the collective levels.
- An opportunity to demonstrate how CREATIVITY and INNOVATION can be applied to nation building.
- A platform to promote CREATIVITY and INNOVATION in Nigeria and Nigerian society
- A platform to generate discussion about the culture that encourages CREATIVITY and INNOVATION in the academia, the social and the political life of a nation.
