A service networking company, Workclick, has
launched an app that connects artisans and other skilled workers to their
potential customers in Lagos.
At the official unveiling of the product on
Saturday, Samuel Ajiboyede, the company’s co-founder, said over 5,000 workers
have signed up with the platform. He said the initiative would help bridge the
unemployment gap by helping people harness their skills without needing to get any
structure on ground or market for their skills.
“Workclick seeks to reduce unemployment and also
help people earn extra money even if they are employed because I don’t think
there is anybody without a tangible skill. You don’t need to spend money getting
a space or marketing your skills, we would keep marketing to drive more
customers to you,” Mr. Ajiboyede said.
He listed the skilled services currently
available in the app to include hairdressing, plumbing, dressmaking, gardening,
barbing, painting, mechanic, dentistry, photography, and electrical
installations among others.
Mr. Ajiboyede who noted that Workclick services
are also presently available in the United States of America and Kenya, said
the major aim of the company in Nigeria, is to help the large population of
skilled persons in the country make additional income; and also to provide
professional services to customers at their utmost convenience through the
mobile app.
“We currently have the patent for Workclick in
US, Kenya and Nigeria. Many countries will certainly come on board in the
coming year. The basic thing we want to achieve through our app is to connect
skilled Nigerians with those that need their services.
“We believe that through our services, the
unemployment rate in the country will be reduced and even those who already
have jobs, will make more income through Workclick. We are simply taking over
the marketing aspect of skilled individuals and connecting them to customers in
their locations,” he said.
Explaining how the service works, Mr. Ajiboyede
said the app is focused on instant services.
“Through the app, also known as Workclick, we
pool a cluster of highly skilled and well-trained experts ranging from
gardeners, barber, tailors, plumbers, DSTV installers to medical practitioners
and connect them to customers who need their services.
“The app is available on PlayStore and on App
Store. It comes in two forms; one for the worker and another for the customer.
“Before deploying our workers, we thoroughly
screen them and conduct further training for them to meet our standard. Once
this is done, they return to their various normal job and locations. The app
will subsequently alert them when a customer using the app requests for their
service.
“Prices for all available services are already
listed on the app and we as a company collect only 20 percent as service charge
for every job successfully done. The rest of the money goes to the worker. This
is what we are about. Empowering skilled people to make more income while doing
their normal businesses.”
Admonishing the workers to be good ambassadors of
the Workclick brand, Mr. Ajiboyede said feedbacks from users, which is one of
the many features of the Workclick app, would enable the platform to rate and
keep track of worker’s performance.
8 Things You Need
To Know About Workclick
Here are 8 things you need to know about the
newest innovation that is helping thousands of skilled people across the world
make huge income by simply connecting them to those who need their services.
1. What is
it all about?
Workclick is a service networking company that
provides professional and domestic onsite services to customers on demand. It
matches trained worker-partners to customers via its app-based platform. It
pools a cluster of highly skilled and well-trained experts ranging from
gardeners to medical practitioners readily available to deliver.
2. Who Can Work for Workclick?
If you've got just any skill, then you are
qualified to enroll into the Workclick workforce. Here are some of the services
you can provide via the platform: Hairdressing, plumbing, domestic electrical
fixes, laundering, barbing, dentistry, make up and beauty, carpentry,
gardening, photography, cobbling, tailoring, home appliances repairs, satellite
TV installation, pedicure/manicure etc.
3. The
Workclick App
Workclick is a mobile app-based platform. The app
is available for download on the Google Playstore and Appstore for Android and
iOS enabled mobile devices respectively. The app operates on two ends. One end
for the worker to see who needs his or her services. The other end is for
thousands of users who need quick onsite services.
4. How Much
The Services Cost
The prices for Workclick services are predefined
and fixed. The price for each service is posted clearly alongside the service
to enable you make a more informed order. This feature wards off the hassles of
negotiations and counter-negotiations. The prices are very competitive with the
present traditional market prices.
5. How Much
Does a Workclick Worker Make?
Depending on how long you remain online for
service requests, as a Workclick worker, you can make as much as US$900 monthly,
or even more! Direct cash payment can be made to the worker after the job has
been completed. Alternatively, payments can also be made through credit/debit card
which must have been registered on the Workclick account. Workclick however
charges a 20% service charge on every payment received for all completed
jobs.
6. Can I
Trust Workclick Workers?
Well, Yes! Workclick is fully conscious of your
safety and satisfaction as a customer. As such, workclick conducts a background
security check on all registered workers prior to being activated to work on
the platform. Once Workclick activates a worker and sends them over to provide
a service on your request, keep calm and feel safe, your Workclick worker can
be trusted.
7. How can
one make a complaint?
Workclick engages several approaches to get
feedback from customers. After every completed job, the customer is expected to
rate the worker and his or her services. If the worker did not actually
complete the job he/she was expected to, you should report the issue directly
to the Workclick support team via the mobile app. The support team would
thoroughly investigate and resolve the matter accordingly.
8. Who is
behind Workclick?
Just so you know, Workclick was founded in 2016 by Samuel Ajiboyede out of an urge to improve the global economy by drastically reducing the growing rate of unemployment and underemployment; while at the same time delivering a faster and easier means to provide onsite services to customers on demand.
